Considering that this song is completely Spanish, I've been able to figure out that the title (in English) is Virgin Mother of God. This song is obviously a religious song and a choir is singing it. I think the artist intended the song to be sung in a church in the Americas. The first settlers were Spanish, so this song would remind them of their Christianity. It could also be taught to new converts (the ones that lived at least) This song could also have been taught to the travelers, especially the priests, to provide some relief to the stress of being in a new land.
This song highlights the very beginning of American History, before the British. It highlights the original explorers who were not English and first explored the new world in the 1500s.
America has, since its inception, been associated with Christianity. The experiences of the people who learned this song, not necessarily the choir that is singing it, are the root of America. Without the first settlers, the Christians in search of money, America would not exist. The USA is a Christian country, so this song ties in with lots of what America is and was in the past. (especially the ever-increasing Spanish). The song, however, does seem to relax me...
