When i first heard this song, I had recognized it. But where from? It took me a few minutes to think about it, but then it came to me! This song is in the background in the Americas on Empire:Total War! Now it totally fits in!
This instrument is very relaxing and really beautiful to be honest. I can see how it can be used by the Amerindians. I think the artist intended to shed some light on some Native American instruments and culture. Back then, however, i'm sure it was used to calm people down and ease their nerves.
This instrumentation highlights the early American period when Native Americans were much more involved in the land than Europeans were.
The instrumentation ad the Native Americans are not as present anymore unfortunately, however, they played a big part in forming our country, so they do represent America in some form.
