Panama Canal Tolls Act of 1912
This act allowed American shipping exempt from the tolls of the Panama Canal. This made Britain very angry and the act was repealed in early 1914 during Wilson's administration in order to show that he was against imperialism.
Jones Act of 1916
Wilson enacted this law in order to get away from imperialism. It granted territorial status to the Philippines and promised independence once a stable government was formed. This did not occur until July 4, 1946.
